2. The writing on the wall

Day 2!

These days people go on your social media wall to write what they feel about you. Here and there you have a few who can't face your wall and write on another wall!!

In the first month of my first grade, I was written on the wall. It wasn't any other "clean" wall, it was the junior students ablution facilities. It was a gory statement of insult, which cant be repeated on this "wall", in large red text, that made sure anyone who used that cubicle would take notice.

I remember crying. I remember asking questions and failing to understand with my small mind. My parents who were in shock, wondered kuti kasi I had been stealing people's pencils already?! It was way too early to have been stealing anyone's boyfriend guys....so "why Lord why"!!

Tell you what, history repeated itself when I was in form 1 and form 4, all in different schools. But guess what, the third time, I did not cry!

Time passed. I did not really forget this because it was a vivid part of my childhood. Only a few years ago did I get to realise why.... it was preparation…

The day I saw something absolutely incorrect about me written on the "wall" later on in this life ..... I did not cry!

We understand God's ways in retrospect.... that's why he tells us to trust Him! Lean not on your own understanding.

Can I be bold to say: There is almost no experiences in our lives that goes in vain, particularly the painful ones. It's either we are sharpened, strengthened, toughened, corrected, transformed or comforted in one way or the other. In other cases, we simply become the ones who can strengthen others.

It’s our choice to look back and actually draw the lesson out of a tough situation. On the other hand, we can choose to be bitter about it for the rest of our lives and keep our eyes closed to the learning point.

A wise person once told me that tough lessons repeat themselves in our lives until we learn the lesson.

Romans 5 vs 3 - ....And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

The song for today is Muripo. One of my earliest compositions. He is there with you, even in the fire! The writing is on the wall! 🤪🫢
